Job summary

Specialty Building Products is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our value-driven team in Nashville. The role includes banding, wrapping, loading and unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products with minimal supervision while adhering to SBP safety policies.

Salary starts at $18.00 per hour with benefits after 30 days. Applicants should have at least one year of warehouse experience and basic math, along with proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to complete tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders and transporting material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse area with floors swept and products in the correct location.
• Work cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees to complete workload.
• Provide accurate, timely service to customers with attention to detail and quality.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Follow safety policies and perform daily forklift safety checks.
• Read tickets and product codes; learn to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw; read a tape measure.
• Accurately pull daily orders; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

U.S. Lumber, an SBP Brand, is currently looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our VALUES based organization to be responsible, at various points, for banding, wrapping, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting and otherwise handling products that come into and move out of the warehouse.

Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Individuals must follow SBP's safetypolicies and procedures at all times.

• $18.00 per hour plus benefits after 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities and Essential Function

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to completeassigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling ordersand transporting material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct location and organized, swept floors.
• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in order to complete required work load.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
• Follow SBP safety policies and procedures and encourage others to dothe same. This includes performing daily forklift safety checklists.
• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products
• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Accurately pull daily orders.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
• Prior lumber experience desired. Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills
• Must be literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Team Lead/Shift Supervisor experience is preferred.
• Self-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative.
