Job summary

Specialty Building Products' U.S. Lumber, an SBP Brand, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to handle banding, wrapping, loading, unloading and transporting products in a safety‑driven environment. You will work with others and perform duties with minimal supervision, following SBP's safety policies.

Shift: Mon-Fri, 7a-4pm EST. Pay is $18.00 per hour with benefits after 30 days. Requirements include a HS diploma, 1+ year warehouse experience, forklift familiarity, basic math and computer literacy;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Prior lumber experience desired; engineered lumber preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required.
• Must be computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Self-starter and proactive with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to load/unload and transport materials.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized warehouse area.
• Work cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees.
• Provide accurate, timely service to customers and complete assigned tasks.
• Assist with inventory variances and order accuracy.
• Follow safety policies and perform forklift safety checks.
• Read tickets and product codes; learn to use chainsaw/industrial saw.
• Read a tape measure and accurately pull daily orders.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Job description

U.S. Lumber, an SBP Brand, is currently looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our VALUES based organization to responsible, at various points, for banding, wrapping, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting and otherwise handling products that come into and move out of the warehouse.
Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Individuals must follow SBP's safetypolicies and procedures at all times.

• Mon-Friday: 7a-4pm EST
• $18.00 per hour plus benefits after 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities and Essential Function

Safely operate forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to completeassigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling ordersand transporting material.

• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.

• Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correctlocation and organized, swept floors.

• Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees inorder to complete required work load.

• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to

  detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner.

• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.

• Follow SBP safety policies and procedures and encourage others to do

  the same. This includes performing daily forklift safety checklists.

• Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products

• Must learn how to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw

• Must be able to read a tape measure.

• Accurately pull daily orders.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Required credentials:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.

• Prior lumber experience desired. Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.

• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required.

• Must have basic math and analytical skills

• Must be computer literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Team Lead/Shift supervisor experience is preferred.

• Self-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative.
