Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material on multi-family construction sites.

Responsibilities

1. Operate Heavy Equipment machinery such as all-terrain forklifts and Sky Trak forklifts.
2. Transport lumber material to and from job site.
3. Unload lumber material from delivery trucks.
4. Responsible for inventory counts.
5. Maintain a safe work environment.
6. Work on unleveled ground.

Requirements

1. 1-year construction forklift operation experience. NO warehouse experience.
2. Experience loading and unloading long material.

Skills

1. Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
2. Must be able to traverse various terrains.
3. Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
4. Must be able to communicate with others.
5. Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight- or ten-hour day.
6. Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc.).
7. Must have knowledge of heavy equipment.

Physical Requirements

1. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
2. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
