Job description

Salary Range: $14.90 - $18.27*

Job Description:

Role Summary: The Material Handler plays an integral role in the distribution operation. You will be part of a dynamic, fast-moving team, playing an essential part in processing merchandise and in the overall shipping and receiving operations.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate transfer receipts from store locations.
  2. Complete inspections to ensure merchandise is in saleable condition before moving to inventory.
  3. Communicate with leads and coordinators regarding receiving discrepancies or damage to transfer merchandise.
  4. Review order details, check products for damage, pick or pack merchandise for customers, and work with leadership to resolve issues.
  5. Coordinate merchandise booking and entry into the inventory management system.
  6. Scan merchandise into inventory efficiently and timely to meet production needs.
  7. Ensure merchandise reaches its designated destination promptly.
  8. Move materials to and from storage and production areas.
  9. Load and unload docks and delivery vehicles manually and with equipment.
  10. Maintain physical requirements such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 lbs repeatedly, walking long distances, bending, stooping, climbing ladders or stairs, and manual dexterity for order processing.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or GED required.
  • 1-5 years of experience in retail, wholesale, or warehouse operations.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent organizational skills and enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • Availability for extra hours, shifts, or days.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to hear equipment and warning signals.
  • Experience with warehouse equipment like pallet jacks.
  • Understanding of computer-based systems.
  • Manual dexterity for sorting, tagging, and packaging freight.
