Machine Operator – Night Shift

Ultra-Poly Corporation, a pioneer in plastic recycling, is hiring full‑time machine operators for its production department in Portland, Pennsylvania. The role is entry‑level, with on‑the‑job training and 12‑hour night shifts (7 pm–7 am).

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment for production following the schedule to fulfill customer orders.
• Operate large equipment such as shredders and grinders during the majority of the shift.
• Manually load and unload product into or out of equipment.
• Monitor, adjust, and remain attentively aware of the equipment while operating.
• Use forklifts to transfer material within the production floor (the role is not a forklift operator).
• Execute all safety protocols; safety is critical to everyone's success.

Qualifications

• Self‑starter with a strong work ethic, dependable, and demonstrates good attendance.
• Willingness to learn; mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods and work in hot or cold conditions.
• Must be 18 years or older, U.S. eligible for employment without visa sponsorship, and able to read, write, and understand English.
• Basic computer knowledge is a plus; previous manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist others when needed.
• 22 % shift differential and overtime compensation, plus scheduled rotation: 36 hrs one week, 48 hrs the next, including every other weekend.
