Job summary

Ultra-Poly Corporation is hiring for immediate full-time Grinder & Shredder operator roles in Portland, PA. The entry-level positions involve hands-on work setting up production equipment, operating shredders and grinders, and loading material while following safety procedures.

Earn up to 20.50 per hour with overtime, weekly pay, and comprehensive benefits. Training will be provided to help you grow within our environmentally conscious manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Entry level role with on-the-job training.”
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment and follow production schedules to fulfill orders.
• Operate shredders and grinders on a 12-hour night shift (7 pm–7 am).
• Load and unload materials manually and monitor equipment.
• Move material within the floor using forklifts (not a full-time forklift position).
• Adhere to all safety protocols and assist teammates as needed.

We have immediate full time openings and are searching for new team members to join our Production Department in Portland as a Grinder & Shredder operator. These are entry level opportunities that are supported by a team that will train you to perform in our unique environment.

What You Can Expect To Be Doing

• This position is "hands on" and the individual should have a self-starter mindset.
• Setting up the equipment for production following the schedule to fulfill our customer orders.
• The majority of your shift will involve operating large equipment such as shredders and grinders.
• Manually load and unload product into and out of equipment.
• Material Handlers are regularly on their feet, monitoring, adjusting and attentively aware of the equipment they are operating.
• Forklifts are used to transfer material within the production floor - please note this is not a full-time forklift position.
• Responsible for executing all safety protocols - safety is critical to everyone's success.

What We Are Looking For In Our Hires

• Our successful candidates are self-starters who are willing to learn!
• Have a strong work ethic - dependable and demonstrate good attendance
• Able to work a 12-hour night shift (7 pm to 7 am)
• Our work schedule rotates every 2 weeks: 36 hours one week & 48 hours second week (schedule includes every other weekend)
• Able to meet the physical qualifications for this position which include:
• Lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
• Standing for an extended period of time
• Lift, throw, bend, squat, twist, and reach
• Working in both hot and cold conditions
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
• Need to be able to read, write and understand English
• Basic computer knowledge is a plus
• Previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not necessary
• Mechanically inclined with an attention to detail
• Lastly, have a positive attitude and be willing to assist others when needed.
