Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Material Handler in Plymouth, MN, for a Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shift with a $20.00–$22.00 hourly wage. The role involves receiving, moving, staging, and shipping materials, plus supporting production and inventory control.

Ideal candidates have forklift experience, ability to read blueprints or instructions, and strong math/mechanical aptitude. High school diploma or GED preferred; prior warehouse or manufacturing exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, products, and fabricated parts.

  • Label and organize inventory and storage locations.
  • Complete shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation accurately.
  • Perform inventory counts and assist with order fulfillment.

$20.00-$22.00 per hour

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or material handling training is beneficial.
Experience Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering documentation
  • Strong math and mechanical aptitude
Job Duties
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, products, and fabricated parts
  • Sort, stage, and transport metal parts throughout the production facility
  • Move raw materials and finished goods using forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Label and organize inventory and storage locations
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, quantities, and product specifications
  • Open material bundles, sort stock, and confirm material size and thickness
  • Complete shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation accurately
  • Perform inventory counts and assist with order fulfillment
  • Package, crate, and prepare products for shipping
  • Resolve inventory, location, and damaged goods discrepancies
  • Support production and assembly teams as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with light mechanical assembly when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures, warehouse documentation, or Lean warehouse practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and safe work habits are well positioned for success as a Material Handler.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive material handling tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely move products using manual or powered material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in warehouse or manufacturing environments while following established safety procedures.
  • Wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves

What You Will Do

As a Material Handler you will receive, move, stage, load, unload, organize, and transport materials throughout warehouse or manufacturing operations. You will verify inventory, maintain accurate product locations, prepare materials for production or shipment, assist with inventory control, and help ensure safe, efficient movement of products while following established workplace procedures.

The Material Handler plays an important role in warehouse and manufacturing environments by ensuring materials move safely and efficiently throughout daily operations. This position requires organization, physical stamina, and attention to detail.
