Job summary

Monroechamber in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Material Handler to support production and shipping operations. You will perform pre-shift vehicle checks, manage materials, and assist with order preparation.

The role requires ability to read and follow instructions in English, basic math, and the stamina to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will handle up to 50 lbs and operate pallet jacks or forklifts as needed. The position is on-site.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete motorized industrial vehicle checks before each shift.
• Interpret job tickets and packing lists to ensure materials and instructions match specifications.
• Load/unload materials with pallet jack or forklift from trucks/cars.
• Secure documents and verify check-in/out quantities and descriptions.
• Stow materials in designated inventory locations using equipment.
• Return unused materials to proper locations after production.
• Prepare roll changes for web card/envelope equipment and carton taping machines.
• Assemble orders from packing lists using motorized equipment on time.
• Prepare shipments via truck lines, freight lines, UPS, and FedEx.
• Monitor quality compliance of packages and loads.
• Participate in daily inventory counts and stock verification.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.

Job description

Position Title: Material Handler Wage: $20.23/hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 3:00pm - 11:00pm Location: Milwaukee, WI

Material Handler Responsibilities:

• Complete motorized industrial vehicle check before each shift
• Comprehend Production Floor Traveler (job ticket) and/or Packing List and make sure material, product type and special instructions are consistent with the specifications outlined for the job
• Load and unload materials and product by hand, pallet jack or motorized industrial vehicle from trucks / cars
• Secure shipping documents and verify that check-in or check-out of material or product is consistent with the documents for quantity and description
• Accurately stow product and material in designated inventory locations using motorized industrial vehicles
• Return unused materials from production to their proper locations
• Facilitate timely preparation of roll changes for web card / envelope equipment and carton taping machines
• Accurately retrieve from inventory and assemble product orders from the Packing List(s) on a timely basis using motorized industrial vehicles
• Prepare orders for shipment via truck lines, freight lines, UPS, Federal Express, etc.
• Monitor compliance with quality requirements of product packages and loads
• Participate in daily inventory counts
• Verify inventory stock levels as requested
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned work area(s)

Requirements for Material Handler:

• Able to follow written/verbal instructions in English
• Able to read and count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly
• Good communications skills
• Basic math skills
• Able to perform repetitive and fast-paced work in a warehouse environment
• Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, grip, reach, push, and pull with both hands
• Able to work with product weight of up to 50 lbs, but consistently between 1- 30 lbs
