Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Material Handler in Madison, WI to receive, unload, and move materials using a forklift. You will verify orders, input data into SAP MRP, and collaborate with QA to ensure material acceptance.

You will stage, label, and ship finished goods, while maintaining precise inventory records and following safety policies. The role requires forklift experience, FIFO knowledge, and proficiency with SAP MRP.

Qualifications

  • Forklift operation experience required; stand-up lift preferred.
  • Familiarity with FIFO in a production environment.
  • Proficient with SAP MRP system and material tracking.
  • Ability to perform cycle counts and inventory tasks.
  • Strong math and computer skills; ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Excellent communication skills and safety awareness."
  • Able to work in extreme temperature environments and with hazardous materials.

  • Perform staging and shipping tasks; pull orders and load trucks.
  • Assist with monthly raw material inventory counts and recounts.
  • Follow all safety policies and conduct cycle counts as needed.

Job DescriptionRole Overview: Unpack Your PotentialAs a Material Handler you’ll perform necessary handling of materials at both the beginning and end of the production process.Schedule:Shift: 12-hour shifts (6 AM – 6 PM or 6 PM – 6 AM) on a 4-3 rotationFixed Days:Option 1: Sunday–Tuesday and every other SaturdayOption 2: Wednesday–Friday and every other SaturdayNote: Employees are assigned to one of the two fixed schedules and do not rotate between them.Compensation & Benefits: Value, RecognizedWe reward great work with:Pay: $20.50 - $22/hour (pay based off of skillset) + $1.50/night shift premium401(k): Dollar-for-dollar match up to 8%Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, disability, and life insurance coverage starting day onePaid time off and holidaysTuition reimbursement and professional development opportunitiesJob Description: Possibility UnpackedWhat you’ll do:Receive and unload materials using forklift equipment, following the First In/First Out (FIFO) system, and move items to appropriate locations.Verify accuracy of received materials against paperwork; enter and allocate materials into the SAP MRP system.Confirm material acceptance by Quality Assurance (QA) through certification and document accordingly.Provide delivery documentation to relevant departments.Transport substrates to stock machines and return rolls and unused materials to storage.Move finished goods to the labeling area and complete labeling tasks.Place materials into designated racks and record locations on slitter tickets.Maintain the material location tracking system.Perform staging and shipping tasks, including pulling orders, moving items to the staging area, verifying order accuracy, and loading trucks.Assist with monthly raw material inventory counts, including participation in recounts (may require working outside regular hours).Follow all safety policies and procedures.Conduct cycle counts and perform other miscellaneous tasks as needed.What we want from you: Lead the PackPreferred qualifications:Experience operating a forklift (preferably stand-up lift)Basic knowledge of truck capacities, warehouse flow and production process environment (FIFO) location system knowledge preferredProficient math and computer skillsAbility to work in extreme environmental conditions both inside the facility and out (i.e. high temperatures indoors in summer, cold temperatures inside and out around dock areaComfortable working with hazardous materialsStrong self-motivating skills and ability to self-manage, prioritize and persevere in stressful situationsExcellent communication skills and ability to calmly work with different personalitiesDesire to work in and promote a safe working environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for 12-hour shiftsStand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.Perform tasks in a fast-paced production environmentWhy Amcor?Be part of a global leader while working in a supportive, team-driven environment.
