Job description

D.W. Distribution, an SBP Brand, is seeking a Material Handler to join our values-based organization. We prioritize serving people first and operate with a moral compass focused on doing what is right, even when difficult. This position is based at our Lancaster facility and involves responsibilities in the Pre-hanging/Pre-finishing operation, including material receiving, movement, shipping, and production support.

Essential Functions
  1. Manually pick and stage warehouse items at the correct loading dock location.
  2. Use a hand-held scanner to locate items and move them to the appropriate dock door.
  3. Move damaged or non-conforming items to designated areas for reclaim or RTV.
  4. Operate a forklift and order picker as required.
  5. Perform activities safely, adhering to company safety standards.
  6. Inspect products to meet quality standards set by the company.
  7. Maintain proper housekeeping and organization on the loading dock and warehouse aisles.
  8. Strive for team efficiency in pulling items without compromising accuracy.
  9. Assist in unloading or loading trucks when necessary.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED.

Experience: At least one year of forklift operation experience; cherry picker experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities
Computer Skills

Basic use of computers is helpful.

Certificates & Licenses

Forklift certification may be advantageous.

Other Requirements
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding English.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions from supervisors and coworkers.
