Job description

DC-Lancaster

The Material Handler - Equipment Operator may fulfill multiple roles in the Distribution Center environment to help fulfill the overall mission of processing inbound and/or outbound freight accurately, timely, and safely.

Major Activities

1. Utilizes manual and/or powered industrial equipment to load and unload inventory.
2. Uses material handling equipment (reach truck and/or order picker/cherry picker) to fulfill shipping and receiving orders.
3. Completes periodic safety training on machinery operation.
4. Performs routine inspections of equipment and reports maintenance needs.
5. May perform various functions in the Distribution Center such as Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and other specialized roles requiring additional training/experience (e.g., Inventory Control).
6. Documents production logs accurately, including changes in assignments, downtime, meetings, etc., to ensure accurate productivity records.

Minimum Education

Preferred Certifications

• Reach Truck or Order Picker Certification preferred

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing 5 to 60 pounds
• Frequent pushing or pulling of materials and equipment
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and twisting
• Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers

Work Environment

• Exposure to temperature variations, noise, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles
