Role Overview
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and moves metal chips from machines to proper containers for recycling. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Operates forklift truck and stackers to move material and finished products from one location to another.
Removes metal chips and refuse by hauling to proper containers for recycling or storing.
Moves material, product and equipment to and from work area.
- Loads and unloads trucks, and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Works from route cards, written and verbal instructions from Leader, salaried personnel, or employee being assisted.
- Performs other incidental duties as the job dictates and/or as directed by Supervisor.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist
- Will make company pickups/deliveries for company products, raw materials, and finished goods from vendors and suppliers in the local area
- Obtain vendor’s signature on delivery sheets and signed for items received
- Maintains necessary records
- Any other duties as assigned by manager

- High Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Drive and operate a forklift truck a must.
- Lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds, in order to load and unload trucks.
- Differentiate between different types of materials.
- Ability to work in a multi‑task environment.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must have excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
- Exercise independent judgement and discretion.
- Operate floor operated jib and semi‑gantry crane.
- Operate two and four wheeled hand trucks.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
Pay Range
Minimum $22 – $25 / hour
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
