Job summary

WeldFit in Houston, TX is seeking a Material Handler to perform shipping and receiving duties in a manufacturing environment. The role involves retrieving items from the warehouse, packaging, weighing, and documenting shipment details.

You will maintain shipping records, operate material handling equipment, and ensure safe, orderly warehouse conditions. The position is outdoors for most of the day and may require weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• Prior shipping/receiving experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives and inspects incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages.
• Prepares items for shipment by retrieving from warehouse, packaging, weighing and documenting shipment details.
• Stores materials and supplies safely and orderly in the warehouse.
• Signs for incoming deliveries and loads/unloads delivery trailers as needed.
• Maintains shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
• Maintains a safe and orderly warehouse/receiving area.

Job Details: Job Location: Brittmoore - Houston, TX 77041, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Manufacturing, WeldFit is looking for an experienced Material Handler, responsible for performing shipping and receiving duties.

Other Duties / Expectations:

• Receives and inspects incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages and reports problems promptly to the appropriate person.
• Prepares items accurately for shipment according to customer orders/instructions by retrieving from the warehouse, packaging, weighing on a scale and documenting correct shipment details.
• Stores materials and supplies within the warehouse according to part number and/or description by safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and stacking by hand or safely using material handling equipment.
• Signs for incoming deliveries, loads and unloads delivery trailers/trucks by hand or with material handling equipment as needed.
• Maintains shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
• Maintains the warehouse and receiving area in a safe and orderly manner.
• Position is outside for 95% of the time
• Must be able to work Monday - Sunday if needed, with overtime.

Qualifications: Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb
• Capability of lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• High Level of manual dexterity
• Good mechanical aptitude

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience shipping/receiving experience required
