Job summary

ROMARK in Waco, TX is seeking a Material Handler-Level I to support warehouse operations. You will inspect equipment for safety, complete preoperative checks, and perform freight picking using an RF scanner and a WMS system to move goods efficiently.

You will also assist packing on production lines, handle pallets, and maintain a clean, safe workspace following GMP guidelines. A high school diploma or GED and ability to lift up to 75 lbs are required; overtime may be scheduled.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate all equipment associated with a warehousing environment (warehouse material handling equipment, RF scanner).
  • Ability to frequently lift 35 to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Must meet DOT sight and hearing requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work daily and weekend overtime to meet business needs.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Demonstrates reliability and consistently maintains high-quality work standards.

Responsibilities

Job Details

Job Location: Waco, TX 76712

Salary Range: $17.50 - $20.25 Hourly

The tasks and responsibilities required of the Material Handler-Level I are outlined below:
  • Thoroughly inspects MHE for excessive wear or damage and completes preoperational checklists to ensure equipment is safe to operate prior to use.
  • Ensures any maintenance or repair issues for the building, vehicles and equipment are communicated to supervision.
  • Exhibits safe behaviors and practices in the workplace to include wearing required PPE and following safe material handling and lifting practices.
  • Responsible to follow good housekeeping and GMP to maintain a safe and clean working environment to include cleaning debris from locations, sweeping aisles, cleaning up spilled product and picking up trash.
Freight Pick
  • Using a system generated list, the Material Handler-Level I completes freight picking orders by identifying the correct location to pick product, verifying SKU and case count.
  • Follows proper freight picking procedures using “Count back” to verify the accuracy of freight picked and remaining inventory in location.
  • Uses an RF scanner on a computerized inventory control system to manage product movements throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensures all product picked is damage free and properly palletized for stability during transport.
  • Properly accounts for loose or damaged cases following the proper procedures to reconcile inventory and either dispose of, return to inventory, or recoup product.
  • Prepared freight picked pallet for transport by securing any loose cases and pallets.
Transport In/Out
  • Uses WMS system to identify product drop zones (aisles) or staging areas (dock door) for transport.
  • Inspects pallet to ensure product is damage free, properly wrapped, securely positioned and stable to the pallet.
  • Transport Out: Ensures that the pallets placed at staging areas are even and have proper spacing for inspection by loaders. Seeks out assistance to double stack pallets to consolidate and make the most efficient use of dock space.
  • Transport In: Ensures pallets transported into put away from drop zone to destinated location.
  • Required to operate material handling equipment including electric/manual pallet jacks.
Packing & Line Support
  • Perform repetitive packing and assembly tasks on production lines with speed and accuracy.
  • Adapt to changing tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Meet quality and productivity targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stand for the full duration of shift and perform frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and walking.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
