Job summary

WeldFit in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Material Handler to support shipping and receiving operations. You will perform inspection, packing, labeling and documents for shipments, while handling items safely in a warehouse environment.

The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, standing and walking throughout the shift, and occasional overtime or weekend work. You will contribute to a clean, orderly receiving area and accurate inventory records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior shipping/receiving experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Stand, walk, bend and climb during shifts.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages.
• Prepare items for shipment according to customer orders.
• Retrieve, package, weigh, and document shipments.
• Store materials by part number and description.
• Sign for incoming deliveries and load/unload trailers.
• Maintain shipping/receiving documentation; keep area safe and orderly.
• Work outdoors for 95% of the time and accommodate overtime as needed.

WeldFit is looking for an experienced Material Handler, responsible for performing shipping and receiving duties.Other Duties / Expectations:Receives and inspects incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages and reports problems promptly to the appropriate person.Prepares items accurately for shipment according to customer orders/instructions by retrieving from the warehouse, packaging, weighing on a scale and documenting correct shipment details.Stores materials and supplies within the warehouse according to part number and/or description by safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and stacking by hand or safely using material handling equipment.Signs for incoming deliveries, loads and unloads delivery trailers/trucks by hand or with material handling equipment as needed.Maintains shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.Maintains the warehouse and receiving area in a safe and orderly manner.Position is outside for 95% of the timeMust be able to work Monday - Sunday if needed, with overtime.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, bend and climbCapability of lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basisHigh Level of manual dexterityGood mechanical aptitudeEducation/Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalentPrior experience shipping/receiving experience requiredRequired Skills:Verbal Communication in EnglishOrganizationWritten Communication SkillsReading skillsMath AptitudeTime ManagementAbility to lift up to 75 pounds
