Job summary

Sealed Air is seeking a reliable forklift operator to support multiple warehousing functions in Hanover. The role requires operating forklifts, loading/unloading trucks, and ensuring accurate material movement across the plant.

Safety and efficiency are a must in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include inspecting deliveries, coordinating with machine operators, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of forklift experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking to processes and equipment.
• Ability to use a tape measure.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
• High awareness toward safety for yourself and others.
• Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team or individually.
• Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required.
• College-level courses or trade school preferred, but not necessary.
• Ability to operate hoists, pallet jacks, and other related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and complete daily safety inspections.
• Engage in loading/unloading and moving materials across the plant.
• Interpret and use bill of ladings/orders.
• Support manufacturing operations with material movement.
• Coordinate with machine operators and supervisors.
• Maintain documentation and inventory control as required.

• Operate hoists, pallet jacks and related equipment as needed.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates forklift in accordance with company policy and completes daily safety inspections.
• Knowledge of shipping / receiving / inventory control principles and practices.
• Interprets and uses bill of ladings/orders.
• Loads and unloads delivery trucks.
• Inspects incoming deliveries for accuracy and any visible damage.
• Supports all manufacturing operations with material movement throughout the plant.
• Communicates and coordinate activities with machine operators and supervisors.
• Supplies required materials to work centers.
• Stages empty pallets for foam extrusion.
• Removes finished goods from work centers.
• Removes waste, scrap and paper bales from work centers, operates trash compactor as needed.
• Bands and wraps finished goods materials.
• Services packaging bander and wrapper equipment by replacing band material and film.
• Services grinding operations by replacing containers as they fill, sweeping the area and emptying the collection socks as needed.
• Completes documentation as required.
• Completes other duties as assigned by plant leadership, production leads, or shift leads.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to enter, exit, and drive a forklift without assistance.
