Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is hiring a Material Handler to manage the movement, storage, and tracking of goods in the shop. You will operate forklifts, verify inventory, and ensure correct product placement while following safety rules.

Working hours are 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 1st shift, with Monday-Thursday 6 AM–2:30 PM and half-day Friday 5 AM–11 AM. 1–2+ years experience preferred; no degree required.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years experience preferred.
• Must be able to drive a Reach Truck.
• No degree required is acceptable for this role.

Responsibilities

• Move WIP throughout the building.
• Record in ProfitFab when work reaches an assembly point.
• Daily inspection of forklift and request maintenance as needed.
• Confirm count and match parts to drawings before moving to next stations.
• Maintain locations for parts waiting to weld and assembly.
• Print all assembly and weld maps to confirm parts are present before giving to department.
• Report material damage or discrepancies to Quality & Purchasing.
• Maintain clear in/out locations in each department.
• Assist Purchasing as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols for operating heavy machinery.

The material handler is responsible for the physical movement, storage, and management of goods within the shop. The material handler operates forklifts, checks inventory levels, and ensures accurate product placement, all while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining efficient shop operations. The material handler is responsible for building subcomponent jobs for welding and assembly.

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

• Organizational skills: Keeping the warehouse clean and organized, maintaining proper product placement
• Teamwork: Collaborating with other warehouse staff to meet operational goals
• Communication skills: Effective communication with warehouse staff, drivers, and other departments regarding deliveries and issues
• Basic math skills: Ability to calculate quantities and verify order accuracy
