Job summary

Hendrickson is seeking a materials handler to support the Materials department in loading/unloading, inventory control, and material movement across the plant. You will operate forklifts, use scanners and PCs, and ensure accurate reporting of daily activities.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification is required or obtainable.
• Able to read and write legibly and follow procedures.
• Physically able to lift 40 lbs and work overtime as needed.
• Team-focused with attention to production standards and safety.
• Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, and shipping/receiving is a plus.
• Proficiency using handheld scanners and PCs for inventory tasks.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks, moving materials to storage or production areas.
• Operate sit-down and high-reach forklifts to store or deliver materials.
• Report daily activities and maintain accurate inventories.
• Coordinate UPS shipments and receipts.
• Keep work areas clean, hazards-free, and follow safety rules.
• Assist in packaging aftermarket materials for shipment.
• Utilize handheld scanners/PCs to perform inventory transactions.

Job description

Area Of Accountability

Works as a member of the Materials department to assist in the operation of material handling.

Major Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks with either incoming or outgoing materials. Inventories/counts and moves raw and finished materials from the production floor or storage areas to their intended destination.
• Operates the company truck to move materials to or from plant.
• Unloads steel trucks as they arrive and moves steel to storage areas.
• Operates sit-down lift and high-reach lift trucks as necessary to store or deliver materials.
• Accurately reports daily activities as required.
• Material flow, presentation and replenishment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes such as cycle counting and scrap reporting are preferred.
• Inventories, prepares and packages aftermarket materials for shipment.
• Proficient in using handheld scanner and/or pc to perform inventory transactions.
• Coordinates UPS shipments and receipts.
• Keeps work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Exercises safe work habits
• Maintain a clean safety record for operating all material handling equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Area Leader or Supervisor.
