Summary

Performs duties related to shipping, receiving, and general material handling, including picking and staging for outgoing orders, production needs, receiving raw materials, and putting away production output in a safe, organized manner compliant with food manufacturing standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory according to FEFO, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished products for final distribution.
• Maintains the stock and/or materials storage area.
• Locates materials and supplies by verifying against production orders using FEFO.
• Utilizes inventory and records software.
• Documents materials, units delivered, and locations.
• Records units shipped to document product shipment.
• Maintains material-handling equipment through pre- and post-inspections.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery for moving items, loading/unloading trucks, and dock operations.
• Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
• Learns and follows workplace safety regulations.

Education and Experience

Warehouse and/or forklift experience is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, dependable, responsible, detail-oriented, flexible, and eager to develop skills and take on challenges.

Language Skills

Ability to read, interpret ingredient specifications, recipes, business materials, and regulations. Effective communication with customers, staff, and owners.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with probabilities, statistics, weights, measures, ratios, and proportions for ingredients and nutritional info.

Physical Demands

Frequent reaching, talking, hearing; standing, stooping, kneeling, walking; occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, color, and focus adjustments.

Work Environment

Typically quiet but fast-paced and in close quarters. Frequent exposure to heat, occasional exposure to cool temperatures.
