Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Manufacturing Materials Engineer to manage the flow of materials across a production and warehousing facility. You will support model studies for ICE and BEV PTO facilities and collaborate with Planning, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure adherence to lean principles.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2+ years of materials experience, with extra credit for automation and warehouse technology experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience applying lean material flow strategies in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for material flow processes and maintain standards.
• Work with Planning, Inventory Control, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure robust policies.
• Develop and implement material flow processes and equipment.
• Recommend changes to improve safety, costs, quality, and efficiency.
• Contribute to plant layout and space utilization analyses.
• Define in-plant storage and call systems to optimize inventories.
• Coordinate labor, facility, and equipment requirements for projects.
• Administer standard cost data, capacity forecasting, and shop floor control.
