Job summary

Overview

Na Ali'i is looking to hire a temportary Material Coordinator to support the Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) Navy Real-Time Reutilization Asset Management (RRAM). The purpose of this position is to be a member of a contract support team to provide logistical support services for inventory management and physical material expertise onboard naval assets and at a client warehouse located on Naval Base San Diego. The team will support Navy initiatives and efforts through onload, offload, warehousing, and distribution of Navy material as directed by client leadership.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Specific duties include:

  • Support on-load/off-load of material from naval assets, to include material identification, removal/replacement, and transportation.
  • Perform physical inventories in accordance with client policy.
  • Perform material coordination efforts to organize and position assets in accordance with client policy and operational requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (training to be provided)
  • Keep Nakupuna project leadership team abreast of any issues of potential impact to achievement of contract deliverables or accomplishment of client mission.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and on-the-job safety requirements.
  • This role may be performed during first or second shift as determined by operational and client requirements.

Skills/Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be in good physical condition and can occasionally travel.
  • Must have valid state-issued vehicle operator's license. MHE license desirable - MHE operator must possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate or proof of a current medical examination document on their license.
  • Military Installation Access: This position resides on a military installation.
  • Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorable National Security Agency Check (NACI) including an FBI fingerprint check.
Education and Experience
  • One (1) year experience in DoD or commercial services logistics, supply, and physical material inventory procedures is required.
  • Experience with the Navy supply system is desirable.
  • Experience in material part numbers identification for Navy Stock.
  • Number equivalence & material condition codes is desirable.
Clearance

Active SECRET clearance and/or a current Common Access Card (CAC) desirable.

Work Location

San Diego, CA

Travel

This position may require up to 25% travel, with reimbursement in accordance with the JTR. As travel may include international destinations, a valid passport is desired.

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Frequently lift and/or move parts up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move parts up to 50lbs.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for the majority of working hours.
  • Ability to climb/scale ladders and/or manlifts.
  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
  • Frequently use arms, hands, and fingers to grasp, move, package, and count very small objects.
  • Occasionally able to carry items up to 20lbs for up to 100ft.
  • Execute the physical tasks above on a naval vessel or in a warehouse that may not be environmentally controlled.

This federal government project is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA). The hourly rate for this position is determined by the location where work is performed. In addition to hourly pay, positions subject to SCA are entitled to a health and welfare (H&W) payment, which may be adjusted based employee selection of company benefits in lieu of H&W.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market rates commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation rate for this position is $ 31.24 per hour. The hourly rate displayed represents the typical rate for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.

This is a temporary position of September 2026 to June 2027.
