  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Execute replenishment activities to support production, warehouse, and order fulfillment operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish pick locations from reserve storage locations.
  • Coordinate material movements between storage, production, staging, and fulfillment areas.
  • Support uninterrupted material flow by responding to replenishment requirements.
  • Maintain organized storage locations and warehouse layouts; ensure proper identification of inventory.
  • Perform inventory consolidation to improve storage utilisation and warehouse efficiency.
  • Assist with slotting/re-slotting activities and maintain location integrity.
  • Execute ERP/WMS transactions and report discrepancies in movement or storage locations.

Job description

General Purpose:

The Material Control Specialist I is responsible for supporting efficient material flow throughout Glock's warehouse and distribution operations. This role executes material control activities including putaway, replenishment, consolidation, warehouse slotting and organization, and material movement coordination. The Material Control Specialist I ensures materials are properly stored, identified, and positioned to support production, inventory control, and order fulfillment requirements while maintaining location, integrity, and adherence to company standards.

Shift(s) Available:
  • 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned):
Material Flow & Replenishment
  • Execute replenishment activities to support production, warehouse, and order fulfillment operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish pick locations from reserve storage locations to support production and order fulfillment requirements.
  • Coordinate material movements between storage, production, staging, and fulfillment areas.
  • Support uninterrupted material flow by responding to operational replenishment requirements.
Warehouse Organization & Location Integrity
  • Maintain organized storage locations and warehouse layouts.
  • Ensure inventory is stored in designated locations and properly identified.
  • Perform inventory consolidation activities to improve storage utilization and warehouse efficiency.
  • Support warehouse organization efforts consistent with 5S and Lean principles.
  • Support warehouse space optimization through proper storage practices, consolidation activities, and inventory organization.
  • Assist with slotting and re-slotting activities as directed.
  • Maintain physical and system location integrity.
ERP & Material Movement Control
  • Execute ERP and warehouse management system transactions associated with material movements.
  • Verify physical movements are accurately reflected within system records.
  • Maintain license plate, location, and inventory identification accuracy.
  • Identify and report discrepancies related to material movements or storage locations.
Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to OSHA, ISO, EPA, and company safety requirements.
  • Operate material handling equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in warehouse optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, storage utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of standardized warehouse processes.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or inventory control.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO) and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Experience using ERP, WMS (Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365), and inventory management systems; proficiency in data entry.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment mandatory.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Powered industrial truck endorsement (Internally certified)
  • Must successfully pass and maintain a Security Threat Assessment (STA) under TSA regulations

Personal safety protective equipment required. The employee is regularly required to push a cart with an average weight of 260 lbs.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the work environment primarily requires the employee to occasionally be exposed to filtered humidity and temperature-controlled air between 65ºF and 80ºF and sometimes outside weather conditions, which can include sunshine, rain, sleet, and snow, high or low temperature and humidity. Standing and walking back and forth from office to warehouses and other buildings. The employee is regularly required to work in an industrial setting and with computers and work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation and may be asked to work overtime and weekends when needed for special programs or events.
