Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati is seeking a Match Support Specialist to oversee daily match management within our mentoring program. The role follows BBBSA Service Delivery Model and Standards of Practice, ensuring child safety and quality of service while meeting match support goals.

You’ll maintain case notes in Matchforce, coordinate with volunteers and families, and collaborate with schools and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Pass background check (National Sex Offender, Criminal History, driving).
  • Proficient with computers and office equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day match support for a caseload of BBBS matches.
  • Document and monitor match support and supervision per BBBSA standards.
  • Apply child safety and risk management policies across all duties.
  • Conduct timely match contacts according to BBBSA schedule.
  • Offer coaching, referrals, and information to participants.
  • Provide feedback to participants when guidelines aren’t met.
  • Update the Youth Development Plan and enter data in Matchforce.
  • Promote volunteer involvement through recognition and events.
  • Assist with quality assurance and data for reports.
  • Develop relationships with community partners to promote the agency’s mission.
  • Conduct reassessments of volunteers and families as specified.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Purpose of this function: The Match Support Specialist is engaged in the day-to-day case management and support of matches in the BBBS mentoring program. Work involves following the BBBSA Service Delivery Model and Standards of Practice in the area of match support and ensuring overall standard child safety practices. The Match Support Specialist will meet all match support goals as required by BBBSA.

Responsibilities
Match Support Specialist Duties include:
  • Day-to-day match support of a caseload of BBBS matches.
  • Implement match support best practices as noted in the BBBSA Standards of Practice and Service Delivery Model by documenting and monitoring all elements of match support and supervision.
  • Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures throughout all job functions.
  • Conduct match support contacts in a timely manner ensuring adherence to the schedule required by BBBSA.
  • Provide coaching, support, referrals, and other information as needed to match participants.
  • Provide feedback and supervision to match participants when match guidelines aren’t being met.
  • Conduct all required surveys and updates to the Youth Development Plan.
  • Ensure all data is entered into Matchforce in an accurate and timely manner.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Implement and promote match activities to support ongoing volunteer involvement through individualized recognition, annual events, and re-engagement strategies.
  • Assist supervisor with quality assurance standards and collection of data needed for contract and/or grant reports.
  • Minimize risk through ensuring a high-level proficiency and skill in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of the job function.
  • Assist with all aspects of volunteer/child enrollment as needed.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community and school and partners to educate them regarding the agency’s mission, promote involvement in agency activities and gain their support of the agency.
  • Conduct volunteer and child/family reassessments and updates as specified by the Standards of Practice.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
General:
  • Attend required meetings and events as scheduled.
  • Establish and promote positive communication among all team members of BBBSGC to increase collaboration and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Always represent BBBSGC in a professional manner, providing courteous service to both internal and external constituents and presenting a positive image of BBBSGC.
  • Abide by BBBSGC policies and practices.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Evaluation of Performance

Performance will be evaluated based on meeting the requirements of the job description; meeting performance metrics and other quality indicators established for this position; working effectively in a team environment; and demonstrating the values of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati.

Experience, education, degrees, and licenses
  • A Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited college or university, preferably in social work, counseling, social services or educational field.
  • Participation in continuing education programs as requested.
  • Must be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment.
  • Required to travel approximately 20% of time to meet agency needs (often in places of employment or individual homes), attend conferences and meetings, etc.Travel is generally within Greater Cincinnati.
  • Must have reliable transportation.Drivers of privately owned vehicles must have valid driver’s license and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.May be required to transport clients.
  • Must be able to pass a background check consisting of National Sex Offender, Criminal History and driving check.
