Job summary

Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis is seeking an Events Bartender to prepare, pour, and serve beverages for banquets and events. You will apply mixology knowledge, food/wine pairings, and wine presentation while ensuring compliance with laws and club policies.

Responsibilities include stocking, setup, serving, cash handling, and maintaining bar cleanliness and stock levels throughout events.

Qualifications

• Must be able to slow and refuse alcoholic beverage service when necessary.
• Must comply with basic safety and sanitation requirements.
• Must know the Club POS system or a comparable POS system.
• Must understand department operations, events, and operating hours.
• Must read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
• Must work large or small events with minimal supervision in a team setting.
• Must balance multiple projects with high attention to detail.
• Must work autonomously, take direction, and exercise good judgment.
• Must have professional and interpersonal skills to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate fluent English with proper grammar.
• Ability to multitask and handle sensitive issues with strong thinking.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
• Physical ability to mobile and transport up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspects the bar prior to opening and ensures supplies are available.
• Requests additional supplies and stocks the bar.
• Sets up, executes, and tears down a satellite bar.
• Prepares garnishes, fruit mixes, and pre-mixed drinks before opening.
• Greets members and guests with a ready-to-serve attitude.
• Mixes, prepares, and serves drinks per standard recipes.
• Collects checks and payments for drinks served.
• Reports complaints to a manager as they occur.
• Maintains and cleans bar area and equipment.
• Maintains liquor, beer, and wine inventory.
• Cleans and locks bar per closing procedures.
• Stores, labels, dates, and rotates food items for safety.
• Attends staff meetings and training as required.
• Follows laws and club policies for alcohol service.
• Serves drinks to lounge guests in absence of a beverage server.
• Practices beverage and revenue control procedures.
• Thanks members and guests and invites return visit.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Food & Beverage leadership.
