Job summary

Miami University Alumni Association is seeking a Master Trades Specialist/AQT HVAC for the university's facilities. The role covers complex repairs and installations in the HVAC trade with a first shift, 7:00am–3:30pm, 40 hours per week.

Requires vocational training, three years of trade experience, and EPA Universal Certification. A background check is standard; benefits and smoke-free campus policies apply.

Qualifications

Job Description

Essential Duties

• Reviews job orders and blueprints or drawings; inspects site and consults with client; determines best method to complete project.
• Estimates amount of materials and equipment needed to complete project; prepares cost estimates; arranges for materials to be at job site.
• Performs complex repair or installation on University facilities and property using expertise acquired through specialized training in a skilled trade.
• Serve as informational resource to other staff.
• Maintains and cleans tools and equipment; maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
• May serve as liaison to outside contractors and other departments; may prepare some paperwork; may maintain some files.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires nine months training beyond high school in a skilled trade and three years of experience in that trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Driver’s license required.For AQT positions EPA Universal Certification required.
