GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process. Passion for the industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Master Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values by performing the following duties:

Performance

• Perform various hair services, including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1250 and meet productivity targets through excellent guest service, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Demonstrate and promote products during guest interactions to enhance sales and service experience.
• Support in-store events and marketing initiatives to enrich guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Develop professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards of the store.
• Adhere to the dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Prior relevant work experience required
