Job summary

QXO, Inc., Fort Worth, is seeking a Maintenance Shop Lead Mechanic to serve as the technical leader for maintenance, repair, and reliability of construction equipment, heavy machinery, and fleet assets. This hands-on leadership role oversees daily shop operations and mentors a team of mechanics.

You will perform advanced diagnostics, guide preventive maintenance programs, and drive safety, quality, and operational excellence across the shop, yard, and field service environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in equipment, fleet, industrial, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance and repair operations to ensure efficient workflow.
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor repair work based on priorities and technician skills.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to mechanics and service technicians.
• Monitor department productivity, quality, and service performance.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on equipment and fleet assets.
• Lead preventive maintenance programs and asset management activities.
• Ensure repairs meet company standards and communicate status with operations.
