Job description

Whaley Foodservice, LLC is one of the largest commercial kitchen equipment repair service companies in the Southeast, comprised of over 600 employees located across 31 geographically dispersed locations.

Pay Rate: $40.00–52.00/hour*

Position Summary

This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of customer equipment as assigned. The role requires training in at least two skill sets, maintains a high level of productivity, must hold three of the four CFESA certifications, and is assigned to the on‑call roster. The candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities, mentoring and training other employees.

Major Responsibilities

1. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
2. Troubleshoot and repair gas, electric, water, refrigeration, and steam‑powered commercial kitchen and HVAC equipment.
3. Utilize tablet to document tasks (parts order, work order, timesheet) on a timely basis.
4. Communicate professionally with customers regarding required repairs and status.
5. Use proper tools for repair, including hand tools and power tools.
6. Monitor truck stock to ensure required parts are stocked on the vehicle.
7. Maintain service vehicle, tools, and uniforms.
8. Work independently with daily supervision.
9. Participate on a scheduled weekend/holiday on‑call rotation and work regular overtime as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Obtain correct part numbers through the branch parts person.
2. Collect payment on COD jobs.
3. Contribute positively to branch targets for response time and first‑time‑fix rates.
4. Participate in available training to increase skill and knowledge.
5. Perform other duties as required.

Contacts

• Internal – Daily with branch staff; occasionally with corporate staff.
• External – Frequent and regular contact with customers; occasional contact with factories for warranty purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that aligns with our safety standards.
• 1 year of applicable experience.
• CFESA Master Technician with three of the four CFESA certifications.
