Job summary

Mainstay Life Services is seeking a Master’s level Behavioral Specialist to provide behavioral support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will conduct functional assessments, develop person-centered behavior support plans, and collaborate with families and teams to implement trauma-informed interventions.

The role requires leadership in data collection, plan development, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in psychology, special education or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Licensure/certification such as LCSW, LPC, BCBA preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavior assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and design behavior support plans.
• Design data collection methods and analyze data.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, guardians and service plan team.
• Complete comprehensive assessments of newly presenting issues.
• Develop, update and maintain a trauma-informed behavior support plan.
• Develop crisis intervention and fade plans for restrictive interventions.
• Present Restrictive Procedure plans to Human Rights Team.
• Train and provide supports for implementing behavior plans.
• Complete documentation and monitor progress.
• Provide direct behavioral support and coach supporters.
• Attend psychiatric, medical appointments as needed.
• Debriefs with people supported and team members.
• Pursue training and professional growth opportunities.
• Develop additional resources addressing identified needs.
• Foster collaboration with people supported and staff.
