Position Summary

The Master Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining a master production schedule that ensures optimal production flow, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced nutraceutical manufacturing environment. This role is critical in balancing raw material availability, production capacity, and inventory targets while adhering to strict GMP standards and FDA regulations.

Essential Functions

  1. Develop, maintain, and adjust the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, sales orders, and material availability for a diverse range of nutraceutical products.
  2. Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of finished goods while meeting quality and compliance requirements.
  3. Monitor production performance against the schedule; proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks, delays, or inventory issues.
  4. Align production planning with regulatory timelines, lot tracking requirements, and batch release protocols in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
  5. Work closely with Procurement to ensure timely receipt of raw materials and packaging components, considering lead times and shelf-life constraints.
  6. Analyze forecast accuracy and production trends to improve scheduling efficiency and reduce waste or overproduction.
  7. Participate in daily/weekly production meetings and provide visibility to capacity constraints, schedule changes, and priority shifts.
  8. Ensure ERP system planning parameters are accurate and up-to-date; maintain master data integrity for items, routings, and BOMs.
  9. Support internal audits, product traceability, and documentation efforts as required for regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in production planning or supply chain management within the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing industry.
  3. Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
  4. Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
  5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning/reporting tools.
  6. Familiarity with cGMP regulations, FDA requirements, and quality systems in a manufacturing setting.
  7. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with various departments throughout the company.
  9. Excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
