Job summary

PRA Group is seeking a senior enterprise platform architect to provide technical leadership across a SaaS debt recovery system, shaping standards for build, release, data migration, and cloud adoption. You'll partner with applications, data, security, and infrastructure teams to drive modernization and multi-year transformation.

Qualifications

Job description

Provides enterprise-level technical leadership and architectural direction for a SaaS Debt Recovery System platform, engineering across the core collections ecosystem, defining long-term strategies, standards, and scalable operating models for build, integration, data migration, and release management. Shapes cross-functional technology decisions spanning applications, data, security, and infrastructure, and drives the development of new platform capabilities to support organizational objectives. Acts as a recognized authority influencing multi-year transformation initiatives, including system modernization, vendor integration, and cloud adoption, while ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture and business outcomes.

This is a hybrid position working onsite in the office 3 days per week.Note: We are not able to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Experience Requirements:
  • Must have experience with implementing a leading an enterprise level SaaS Debt Recovery System Platform, driving architectural and engineering direction.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or systems architecture
  • Demonstrated experience defining enterprise-level architecture, standards, and technical strategy
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, multi-system transformations (e.g., modernization, cloud migration, or vendor platform integration)
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and cross-functional leadership
  • Track record of introducing new technologies, methodologies, or engineering practices at scale
  • Expert: Distributed systems architecture, platform engineering, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) ecosystems
  • Expert: Cloud-native architecture, including definition and governance of cloud platform designs and operating models
  • Advanced/Expert: Enterprise data migration strategy, integration patterns, and system interoperability across complex environments
  • Expert: Definition and governance of engineering standards, architectural principles, and platform operating models
  • Expert: Strategic problem decomposition and solution design across multiple domains, systems, and business functions
  • Expert: Executive communication and organizational technical influence, including the ability to shape decisions at senior leadership levels
  • Advanced/Expert: Definition of enterprise data platform architecture and integration strategies across database technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Expert: Definition of enterprise migration strategies for legacy-to-cloud platform transformations, including governance of execution across programs
  • Expert: Leadership of multi-stream, cross-functional technology initiatives with enterprise-wide impact
  • Expert: Definition of platform implementation approaches, operating models, and governance frameworks across build, release, and environment management
  • Expert: Definition of standards and governance models for system configuration and customization, including workflow design, rules management, role-based access controls, and change governance
  • Expert: Definition of enterprise testing strategies and quality governance frameworks, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) readiness and business validation models
  • Expert: Definition of enterprise integration patterns and standards, including real-time application programming interfaces (APIs) and batch/Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processing
  • Expert: Influence on executive stakeholders and definition of governance models across business and technology organizations
  • Recognized authority: Platform engineering practices, shaping organizational standards and long-term technical direction
  • Leader in innovation: Drives creation and adoption of new engineering methodologies, platform capabilities, and architectural patterns across the enterprise
  • Strategic leader: Identifies and frames complex enterprise challenges and translates them into multi-stream initiatives and long-term technical roadmaps
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Platform Strategy & Architecture (25%)
  • Define and evolve the enterprise platform engineering strategy, including standards for build, release, environment management, and integration patterns
  • Establish architectural direction for core systems, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and alignment with long-term business and technology strategy
  • Introduce and institutionalize new platform capabilities, tooling frameworks, and engineering practices
Enterprise Technical Leadership (20%)
  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert and authority across platform engineering, influencing architectural decisions and technical direction across programs
  • Lead resolution of the most complex, ambiguous technical challenges spanning multiple systems, disciplines, and teams
  • Shape and govern cross-functional technical decisions across applications, data, security, and infrastructure
  • Drive large-scale transformation initiatives (e.g., core collections modernization, cloud migration, platform consolidation) with multi-year impact
  • Identify emerging technology opportunities and define new approaches, methodologies, and standards for platform engineering
  • Translate enterprise strategy into actionable platform initiatives and execution models
Delivery Oversight & Outcomes (15%)
  • Provide strategic oversight of platform delivery across build, release, integration, and data migration domains
  • Ensure successful execution of critical milestones such as UAT readiness, go-live, and stabilization through governance and decision frameworks
  • Remove systemic delivery blockers by redefining processes, operating models, or architecture
Engineering Excellence & Standards (10%)
  • Establish enterprise standards for CI/CD, automation, observability, reliability engineering, and platform reuse
  • Define and enforce best practices for testing, deployment, and environment consistency
  • Drive continuous improvement at the organizational level
Mentorship & Organizational Influence (10%)
  • Mentor senior engineers and technical leads, raising the overall technical capability of the organization
  • Act as a thought leader and advisor to engineering leadership and executive stakeholders
  • Influence talent strategy, capability development, and technical career progression frameworks
Operates as a technical authority and enterprise-level individual contributor

Influences multiple teams, programs, and domains without direct reporting authority

Provides direction to senior engineers, architects, and program leaders

Accountable for enterprise-wide technical outcomes, not just team delivery
