Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Data Integrity Specialist to maintain the accuracy and consistency of information across the system. The role focuses on resolving urgent MPI duplicate/overlay errors impacting patient care and coordinating with departments, partners, and affiliates to facilitate chart corrections.

The position requires strong MPI knowledge, EPIC experience, HIPAA compliance, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; HIM experience preferred.
1–2 years in a healthcare setting or related role; 2–5 years in an electronic health record environment preferred.
RHIA or RHIT certification preferred but not required.
Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

Responsibilities

Adheres to Performance Expectations and supports enterprise MPI efforts.
Maintain data integrity of the enterprise Master Patient Index and prevent duplicates.
Interact with all parties in chart corrections and ensure corrections meet quality standards.
Coordinate with HHC entities for paper/document merge and downstream system merges.
Respond to MPI errors during scheduled hours and provide timely feedback.
Monitor origination points of duplicate number assignments and advise registration areas.
Solicit assistance from Epic support for complex chart corrections.
Contribute to EMPI maintenance tool design for efficient workflows.
Assist in developing and validating training curriculum for EMPI cleanup.
Perform other duties as assigned.
