Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a dedicated construction equipment mechanic assigned to a concrete paving crew and working full time. You will assemble, calibrate, service, and repair heavy machinery used on road projects.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related mechanic experience; proficiency with Gunner & Zimmerman (G&Z) and Gomaco equipment is a plus. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of mechanic experience
• Experience with slipform pavers, concrete places, cure/texture machines; G&Z and Gomaco are a plus
• Mechanical, welding, and electrical experience preferred; must read/speak fluent English
• Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Assembles, sets up, adjusts, maintains and repairs all types of construction equipment
• Inspects and diagnoses machinery to determine need for repairs and cost
• Tests, installs repaired unit back into equipment
• Performs minor tune ups to ensure safe operation of equipment
• Understands system controls, operation, and configurations
