Job summary

Austinindl is seeking a Master Mechanic for their dedicated concrete paving crew in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of heavy construction equipment.

The ideal applicant will have a high school diploma or GED, along with two+ years of related mechanical experience. Knowledge of slipform pavers, along with mechanical and electrical skills, is preferred. This position provides an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a growing industry.

Qualifications

• Must have two+ years of related mechanic experience and/or training.
• Experience with specified equipment and ability to perform mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

Master Mechanic - Heavy Equipment - San Antonio

Our mechanic will be assigned to a dedicated concrete paving crew and will be with them full time.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, set up, adjust, maintain and repair all types of construction equipment.
• Inspect and diagnose machinery to determine need for and cost of repairs.
• Test, install new or repaired units back into equipment.
• Perform minor tune‑ups to ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment.
• Understand system controls, operation, and configurations.
• Familiar with transportation of equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two+ years related mechanic experience and/or training.
• Experience with slipform pavers, concrete places, and cure/texture machines; experience with Gunner & Zimmerman (G&Z) and Gomaco are a huge plus.
• Mechanical, welding, and electrical experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and speak fluent English.
