Job summary

TECOMET is seeking a Manual Machinist to perform diversified machinist work on irregular shapes and alloys, including stainless steel. You will setup and operate manual mills, lathes, and grinders per engineering drawings, rework parts, and document processes as required.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in a machine shop, proficiency with blueprints, calipers, micrometers, and physical readiness to lift up to 50 pounds. A high school diploma is required and welding experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must read blueprints and drawings accurately.
• Able to read calipers, micrometer, and height gauges.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Detail oriented, efficient, and able to multi-task.
• Welding experience is desirable.
• Work under general supervision and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge, set up and operation of manual machinery (milling, lathe, drill press, grinder) per specs.
• Rework parts per print with written/verbal instructions.
• Maintain production by completing scheduled work on time.
• Inspect components to ensure form, fit, and function to specs.
• Complete routings and inspection reports; document time entries.
• Maintain material and hardware inventory; assist maintenance as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop fixtures and tooling sheets.
• Support other production areas when required; keep area clean and safe.
