A growing and dynamic manufacturing operation with multiple locations is seeking an experienced Master Maintenance Technician to join its Shelby Township team!

Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Pay Rate: $28-35/ hour based on experience
As a Master Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a critical leadership role in maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting complex industrial systems and equipment. In addition to hands-on work, you’ll guide and develop the Maintenance Technician team, ensuring top performance and reliability across all machinery.
What You’ll Do:
-Lead and support Maintenance Technicians, delegating tasks, setting priorities, and offering mentorship and feedback.
-Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve equipment issues, lead installations, and offer insight on technical challenges.
-Design, troubleshoot, and program PLC systems.
-Serve as the after-hours service contact on a rotating basis when required.
-Perform precision setups and operate industrial machinery such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
-Create parts/material lists for repairs and custom builds.
-Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance, including emergency troubleshooting and problem-solving on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
-Execute preventive maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly).
-Fabricate custom machine parts using tools such as welders, mills, and drill presses.
-Maintain and track inventory of frequently used and critical spare parts.
-Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and aerial lifts when needed.
-Keep accurate records of maintenance activities through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
-Actively participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic).
-- High level of proficiency with machine troubleshooting, fabrication, and precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
-Expertise in PLC programming and logic systems.
-Familiarity with robotic systems and advanced automation tools.
-Strong computer skills and comfort working with maintenance software.
-Effective communicator and team leader, capable of working independently or managing others.
-Strong analytical and mechanical problem-solving skills.
-Commitment to safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
-High School Diploma or GED
-8 years’ maintenance experience
Preferred:
- Technical degree, journeyman certification, or 15+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
