Job summary

Aptar Cary is seeking a Master Machinist in Cary, IL for onsite work. Responsibilities include precision machining, repair of tooling and production equipment, and leading machinists on projects. A strong focus on design for toolroom applications and prototyping is required.

The role offers first and second shift opportunities, a hiring bonus, and the chance to contribute to high-speed assembly equipment development at Aptar’s Cary plant.

Qualifications

• MUST machine parts to close tolerances using conventional toolroom equipment (mill, lathe, surface grinder).
• Familiar with machining ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials.
• CNC mill/lathe operation and/or setup experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and develop mechanisms for Toolroom projects.
• Repair assembly machinery and component parts to support Manufacturing.
• Produce spare parts for assembly equipment.
• Assist in development and production of prototype, measuring and experimental tooling.
• May lead and/or instruct other machinists on projects.
• Train and orient new machinists.
