Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Able to machine parts to close tolerances (+/-.0005) using conventional toolroom equipment.
• Familiar with machining ferrous, non-ferrous and synthetic materials and alloys.
• CNC mill/lathe operation and/or setup experience preferred.
• Welding experience.
• Must possess design skills and be able to work with production personnel to design/troubleshoot high-speed equipment and prototypes.
• Must produce clear sketches of machined parts and weld as needed.
• Must be able to perform trigonometric functions and build/rebuild production machinery.
• Must have general machinist hand tools and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the shift.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and develop mechanisms for Toolroom projects.
• Work independently without supervision.
• Repair assembly machinery and component parts to support Manufacturing.
• Produce spare parts for assembly equipment.
• Assist departments in development and production of prototype tooling.
• Perform custom and repair machining of plant equipment.
• May perform mechanical drawings.
• May lead and/or instruct other machinists on projects.
• Train and orient new machinists.
• Act as team/work area leader to support team concepts.
