Job Description

The Master Licensed Electrician works with minimal supervision to assemble, plan, route, install, and repair wiring and other electrical components and equipment necessary to install engineered control and security systems. The role contributes to the desired safety and work culture of the organization and may oversee a project installation team depending on size and scope.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical Wiring/Installation – Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment based on job specifications and local codes; connect wires to components; test systems for continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters; use power tools and testing equipment; install conduit, pipes, tubing; pull insulated wires; work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs; lead personal and team safety on jobs.
  • Documentation – Prepare as‑built documents for the design team; complete and submit labor and expense reports; participate in operational verification and customer acceptance procedures; provide regular labor productivity reports; manage project budgets and notify leadership of potential problems.
  • Material and Equipment – Order installation materials, submit purchase order requests, schedule delivery to job site, monitor material changes, and recommend change orders to the design team.
  • Project Planning – Participate in hand‑off meetings, coordinate installation resources, review contract plans and specifications, visit job sites to gather engineering layouts, sketch or follow blueprints to determine wiring locations.
  • Other – Maintain product knowledge and stay current with installation standards, safety training, and building codes; manage backlog; keep field personnel informed; assist with program duplication, commissioning of unitary type control devices, startup procedures; mentor Controls Installation Specialists I and II.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree preferred in electrical construction or related fields or 5–7 years of equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical systems, electrical systems, and test equipment (multimeters, digital analyzers).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, building codes, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Proficient understanding of programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, automation controls, and HVAC systems.
