Job summary

Electrical wiring/installation technician in Fargo, ND plans layout and installs electrical wiring and equipment per job specifications and local codes. Connects wires to electrical components to ensure a complete and safe operating system.

  • Place conduit, pipes, or tubing inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
  • Ensure personal and team safety on jobs.
  • Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring or equipment using hand tools or power tools.

Job Overview

Electrical Wiring/Installation: Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment based on job specifications and local codes. Connect wires to electrical components as needed for a complete and operational system. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters or voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment such as ammeters.
  • Place conduit, pipes, or tubing inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.

  • Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring or equipment using hand tools or power tools.
Documentation
  • Assist with preparing completed job as‑built documentation.
  • Complete and submit labor and expense reports and paperwork in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
Material and Equipment
  • Maintain assigned equipment and literature.
  • If a company vehicle is provided, maintain the vehicle and inventory necessary for efficient job completion.
  • Monitor assigned jobs for changes in materials or equipment and notify supervisor.
  • Provide job material requests to supervisor as needed.
Project Planning

Examine project plans, specifications, and submittal documentation, then review with the Project Manager to gain a complete project understanding. Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

Other

Maintain basic product knowledge, procedures, and methods, and continuously learn more advanced product applications. Stay up to date on company installation standards, safety training, and current building codes as they pertain to the scope of work. Manage own backlog to ensure timely and accurate job completion. Keep supervisor informed of job status and elevate problems as needed.

Pay Range: $17.48 - $26.22 – the actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
