Job summary

Ryder in Elizabeth, New Jersey is seeking a Master Level Diesel Technician to join its team. This role focuses on heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair, with a focus on diagnostics, preventive maintenance and complex repairs.

The position offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, 80 hours PTO in year one, a 401(k) match and opportunities for training and advancement. Applicants should have CDL-A or be able to obtain it within six months, and possess strong shop skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical certification post secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems.
• Perform major engine repairs and diesel aftertreatment work as required.
• Coach/mentor other technicians and support shop leadership.
• Drive Ryder vehicles and participate in road tests as needed.
