Description du poste

Job Title: Master Data Specialist BOM

This contract role supports the governance team in preparing for an upcoming ERP implementation by cleaning, standardizing, and centralizing master data, with a strong focus on bills of material (BOM) for liquid and fluid-based production. The Master Data Specialist works primarily remotely and collaborates closely with quality and plant teams to consolidate inconsistent part and BOM data into a unified, ERP-ready structure.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the governance and quality teams to support master data initiatives in preparation for an ERP implementation.
  • Analyze and consolidate production data sets such as BOMs, recipes, and quality-related data from multiple plants that currently operate independently.
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies in part numbers and BOM structures across plants to create standardized and centralized master data.
  • Receive BOM and related data from the Quality Manager and other stakeholders, review it for completeness, and clarify missing or ambiguous information as needed.
  • Extract, organize, and transform data from Excel spreadsheets into formats compatible with the organizations systems and future ERP environment.
  • Use Excel tools, including pivot tables and lookup functions, to validate, reconcile, and clean large data sets.
  • Work comfortably in situations where requirements or data definitions are not fully clear, using judgment and collaboration to resolve issues.
  • Support the documentation of data standards, naming conventions, and governance rules for master data related to production and quality.
  • Assist in testing and validating master data within the ERP implementation process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
  • Communicate regularly with plant personnel and cross-functional stakeholders to gather data, clarify discrepancies, and ensure alignment on master data standards.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working with production data sets such as BOMs, recipes, and quality data from a liquid or fluid-based company.
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency, including the ability to build and use pivot tables and lookup functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, or similar).
  • Strong comfort working with large data sets and numerical information, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and "in the grey," making sound decisions with incomplete information.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including quality and plant teams, to gather and validate data.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • SAP experience, particularly with BOM or master data modules, is a plus.
  • Bachelors degree is a plus.
  • Prior experience in master data governance or data cleansing projects is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with standardizing part numbers and BOM structures across multiple locations is advantageous.

This is an estimated 12+ month contract assignment with a primarily remote work arrangement. Candidates based in the Midwest may also work 100% remotely, with periodic travel to facilities in the central United States to support on-site data and process reviews.
