Job summary

Commercial Metals Company seeks an experienced Master Data Lead to drive data quality, governance, and process improvements across Customer, Vendor, and Material domains. You will collaborate with IT, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Operations to deliver data initiatives and uphold data standards.

The role requires expertise in SAP ECC/SAP S/4HANA, data migration, and automation tools like Alteryx and Precisely Studio/Evolve. Strong communication and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years leading Master Data initiatives and cross-functional projects.
• Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA in data governance and migration.

Responsibilities

• Lead Master Data initiatives to improve data quality, governance, and efficiency.
• Partner with Business, IT, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Operations to deliver data projects.
• Manage complex Master Data issues and prioritize requests to meet SLAs.
• Create and maintain Customer, Vendor, and Material Master records in SAP, Precisely Evolve, and related tools.
• Drive data quality through audits, deduplication, and corrective actions.
• Ensure governance compliance with vendor validations, tax verification, and policy adherence.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve performance.
• Maintain SOPs and change control documentation for continuous improvement.
• Provide mentoring, onboarding, and workload coordination for the team.
• Monitor Master Data KPIs and process performance.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Master Data initiatives and cross-functional projects to improve data quality, governance, operational efficiency, and business outcomes
• Partner with Business, IT, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Operations teams to address data needs and ensure timely project delivery
• Serve as an escalation point for complex Master Data issues while managing and prioritizing incoming requests to meet service expectations
• Create, maintain, and update Customer, Vendor, and Material Master records through SAP, Precisely Evolve, and related systems, including mass updates using SAP and Precisely Studio tools
• Drive data quality through audits, deduplication efforts, dormant record reviews, error analysis, and corrective action implementation
• Ensure compliance with Master Data governance standards through verbal vendor bank validations, TIN verification, documentation reviews, and adherence to company policies and controls
• Identify AI, automation and process improvement opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and enhance operational performance
• Maintain and enhance SOPs, governance documentation, and change control procedures while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide leadership through mentoring, onboarding, training, workload coordination, and development of team members
• Monitor and report on Master Data KPIs, data quality metrics, request turnaround times, and overall process performance

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience leading cross-functional projects, process improvements, and Master Data initiatives
• 7+ years of experience in Master Data, Data Governance, ERP Data Management, or a related field, including 5+ years working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA
• Demonstrated success in Customer, Vendor, and/or Material Master data quality, cleansing, standardization, or migration efforts
• Advanced Excel skills with experience analyzing, validating, and reporting on large data sets (10K – 100K lines). Excel Power Query strongly preferred
• Experience building Alteryx workflows or similar data management and automation tools required
• Experience with Winshuttle / Precisely Studio or Evolve preferred
• Strong understanding of Master Data governance, compliance requirements, internal controls, and data quality best practices
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across business and technical teams
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing business needs

Your Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Business Administration or Accounting preferred
