Job summary

Commercial Metals in Irving, TX seeks a Senior Master Data professional to lead data governance and cross-functional initiatives across SAP and related tools. You will drive data quality, coordinate with IT, Finance, Procurement, Sales and Operations, and mentor the team to deliver timely data solutions.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in Master Data, strong SAP experience, and expertise in Excel, Alteryx, and automation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading cross-functional projects, process improvements, and Master Data initiatives
• 7+ years of experience in Master Data, Data Governance, ERP Data Management, or related field
• 5+ years working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA
• Demonstrated success in Master Data data quality, cleansing, standardization, or migration
• Advanced Excel skills with large data sets (10K–100K lines); Power Query preferred
• Experience building Alteryx workflows or similar data management tools
• Experience with Winshuttle / Precisely Studio or Evolve preferred
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance, internal controls, and data quality

Responsibilities

• Lead Master Data initiatives and cross-functional projects to improve data quality and governance
• Partner with Business, IT, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Operations to address data needs
• Serve as escalation point for complex Master Data issues and manage incoming requests
• Create, maintain, and update Customer, Vendor, and Material Master records through SAP, Precisely Evolve, and related tools
• Drive data quality through audits, deduplication, dormant record reviews, error analysis, and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with Master Data governance standards and vendor validations
• Identify AI, automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort
• Maintain SOPs, governance docs, and change control procedures
• Provide leadership through mentoring, onboarding, training, and workload coordination
• Monitor Master Data KPIs, data quality metrics, turnaround times, and process performance

What You'll Do

• Lead Master Data initiatives and cross-functional projects to improve data quality, governance, operational efficiency, and business outcomes
• Partner with Business, IT, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Operations teams to address data needs and ensure timely project delivery
• Serve as an escalation point for complex Master Data issues while managing and prioritizing incoming requests to meet service expectations
• Create, maintain, and update Customer, Vendor, and Material Master records through SAP, Precisely Evolve, and related systems, including mass updates using SAP and Precisely Studio tools
• Drive data quality through audits, deduplication efforts, dormant record reviews, error analysis, and corrective action implementation
• Ensure compliance with Master Data governance standards through verbal vendor bank validations, TIN verification, documentation reviews, and adherence to company policies and controls
• Identify AI, automation and process improvement opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and enhance operational performance
• Maintain and enhance SOPs, governance documentation, and change control procedures while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide leadership through mentoring, onboarding, training, workload coordination, and development of team members
• Monitor and report on Master Data KPIs, data quality metrics, request turnaround times, and overall process performance

What You'll Need

• Proven experience leading cross-functional projects, process improvements, and Master Data initiatives
• 7+ years of experience in Master Data, Data Governance, ERP Data Management, or a related field, including 5+ years working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA
• Demonstrated success in Customer, Vendor, and/or Material Master data quality, cleansing, standardization, or migration efforts
• Advanced Excel skills with experience analyzing, validating, and reporting on large data sets (10K - 100K lines). Excel Power Query strongly preferred
• Experience building Alteryx workflows or similar data management and automation tools required
• Experience with Winshuttle / Precisely Studio or Evolve preferred
• Strong understanding of Master Data governance, compliance requirements, internal controls, and data quality best practices
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across business and technical teams
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing business needs

Your Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Business Administration or Accounting preferred
