Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet CarMax’s high standards for safety and reliability. You’ll work on engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and HVAC in a climate-controlled shop, gaining hands-on experience across domestic and foreign models.

We value integrity and teamwork, offering ongoing training and a collaborative environment. ASE certifications are required per state/local law, and the hourly rate is paid accordingly.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications where required by law.
