Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and performance standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility and receive ongoing training and access to advanced tools.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engines, steering, brakes, and HVAC systems, while upholding health and safety requirements. The role involves hands-on work on domestic and foreign vehicles and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing engines, steering, suspension, brakes and HVAC systems.
• Strong health and safety compliance knowledge.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Efficient multitasking in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Maintain ASE Certifications as applicable by state/local law.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to CarMax safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with a team to resolve technical challenges quickly and effectively.
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.
