Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and reliability standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility, gaining hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles while upholding CarMax's commitment to customer satisfaction.

The role requires experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC, a valid driver's license, and ASE certifications where required by state/local

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering & suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong health and safety compliance awareness.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand long periods.
• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Maintain ASE Certifications where required by state/local law.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax’s quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with a team to resolve technical challenges quickly.
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.
