Job summary

Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is seeking a Massage Therapist to deliver massages and body treatments to guests in accordance with spa standards. You will provide exceptional guest service while maintaining professionalism and a welcoming atmosphere.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of licensed massage experience in a spa/hotel setting, is trained in basic techniques, and can perform Swedish and Deep Tissue modalities. Flexibility for varying schedules, including holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Massage Therapy to obtain a license/permit in the spa's jurisdiction.
• Three to five years of experience as a licensed Massage Therapist in a spa/hotel environment.
• Must complete a skills assessment if conducted at the spa.
• Trained and certified in basic massage techniques.
• Must be able to perform all massage treatments offered by the spa for both men and women.
• Able to deliver Swedish and Deep Tissue modalities.
• Must maintain current licenses/permits and CPR if required.
• Willing to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.

As a Massage Therapist, you will provide exceptional guest service while providing massages and body treatment services to guests according to the Spa standards and procedures.

Requirements

• A diploma or certification in Massage Therapy is required to obtain a license/permit in the state/county/city of the spa.
• Three to five years of experience as a licensed Massage Therapist in a similar environment (i.e. spa, hotel, med spa, or resort) is desired.
• Must successfully complete a skills assessment if conducted at the spa.
• Trained and certified in all basic massage techniques.
• Must be able to perform all massage treatments offered by the spa for both men and women.
• Able to deliver diverse massage modalities, including Swedish and Deep Tissue. Understands contraindications for massage therapy.
• Must maintain current State, County, City, or other required Massage Therapist licenses/permits.
• Must provide a valid original copy of license/permits as required by Spa and/or State law. A valid CPR certificate or willingness and ability to obtain one may be required.
• Completes all training and continuing education as required.
• Requires ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
• Work schedules will include working on holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.
• Must know all applicable health standards.
• Must maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor
• Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend and holiday shifts as required by operational needs
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift/move/pull moderate amounts of weight.
