Job summary

Northern Waters Casino Resort is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist to provide exceptional treatment tailored to client needs. The role involves detailed client assessments and delivering 30–60 minute massage appointments, ensuring comfort and cleanliness throughout the experience.

Job description

Massage therapy is an along-standing pillar of patient wellness to be utilized for both holistic wellness purposes and by order of the massage client’s primary or ancillary provider. The massage therapist will serve in a part-time role providing massage therapy at varying intervals throughout the workday while collaborating directly with ordering provider as indicated. The massage therapist will create an exceptional experience for its clients ensuring communication and comfort throughout the visit.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide 30–60-minute massages to clients by appointment.
  • Greeting client and escorting client to massage suite.
  • Meet with clients to discuss their needs and preferences and assess their physical condition to determine the appropriate massage techniques.
  • Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions.
  • Educate and instruct clients on the massage experience prior to initiating massage.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on client assessments and feedback.
  • Assist in scheduling when necessary.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary environment for clients including sanitizing table, changing linens, and keeping the suite in clean order throughout the scheduled massage hours.
  • Providing exceptional massage therapy techniques to clients based on client preference and massage therapist recommendations.
  • Collaborate with ordering provider when appropriate.
  • Emphasize client comfort and privacy throughout the massage experience.
  • Collect payment for service at the conclusion of the client visit when necessary.
  • Escort patients out of the massage suite and therapy services area at the conclusion of the visit.
  • Maintain accurate records of client treatments, preferences, and progress in compliance with all state regulations.
  • Stay updated on the latest massage techniques and industry trends through continuous education and training.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid massage therapy certification and state licensure.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology to provide effective treatments.
  • Ability to perform massages for extended periods while maintaining physical stamina and strength.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and understand their needs.
  • A caring attitude and professionalism to create a comforting environment for clients.
  • Keen attention to detail to monitor clients' physical conditions and adjust techniques as necessary.
  • Must be self‑motivated and able to work with little direction.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • Medium paced with possible high pressure or emergent situations.
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Possible exposure to infectious specimens, communicable diseases or toxic substances.
  • May wear PPE such as gloves or a mask.
  • Frequent interaction with a diverse population.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, grasping, carrying, and speaking.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional use of computers and keyboards.

Preference will be given to qualified individuals of American Indiandescent.
