Job summary

YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a licensed Massage Therapist to enhance health and well-being through hands-on techniques. This face-to-face role may require early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on client needs.

You will perform Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, and other modalities, maintain clean facilities, manage supplies, and contribute to a welcoming member experience. Part-time, non-exempt up to 25 hours per week with benefits.

Qualifications

• Current massage therapy certification required.
• High school diploma or GED; one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.

Responsibilities

• Gives massages in a variety of modalities: Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Sports, Relaxation, Prenatal, Chair, etc. Operates heat lamps and related equipment.
• Keeps linen and towel supplies stocked
• Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion
• Handles member complaints
• Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association
• 0-5% local travel within the state of Michigan; occasional out-of-state travel may be required for educational conferences or training.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Massage Therapist enhances health and well-being through hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. This position requires face-to-face leadership in these programs and may involve early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities based on client needs.

• Gives massages in a variety of modalities: Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Sports, Relaxation, Prenatal, Chair, etc. Operates heat lamps and related equipment
• Keeps linen and towel supplies stocked
• Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion
• Handles member complaints

Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association

COMPENSATION

$25.00 - $31.82 ; Part-Time, Non Exempt (up to 25 hrs/week)

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current massage therapy certification required.
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

• Must have current, recognized Massage Therapy Certification
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (required)
• First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
• AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days
• Blood Borne Pathogen training
• State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
